The Coastal South Carolina low country between Charleston, Georgetown and Myrtle Beach offers some of the finest shallow water Fly Fishing and Light Tackle fishing anywhere. Together with our usually mild winters that makes this area a very popular year round fishing destination, and by far one of the most pristine areas is the Cape Romain National Wildlife Refuge. Located just north of Charleston and south of Myrtle Beach near the town of McClellanville this refuge and the adjoining state protected areas provide for an experience unequaled anywhere on the Southeast Coast.

Redfish, Red Drum, Channel Bass, or Spottail, regardless of the name you prefer The waters in and around the Cape Romain Wildlife Refuge have endless miles of shallow flats, bays and creeks that hold sizable numbers of these renowned fish. Come and enjoy a part of the Carolina coast that has changed little over the years, one that will offer you the opportunity to cast to one of the most sought after inshore game fish in South Carolina

This unique area offers year round activity where we will find large schools of Redfish feeding on the shallow water mud flats. While both the size of the fish and the schools will vary, it is not uncommon to see teeming schools sometimes consisting of as many as 100 fish. With the arrival of Spring and warmer water we will have the additional option of targeting this hard fighting fish on the invigorating high tide flats of the spartina marsh grass. Redfish here will be seen swimming, often with their backs out of the water and tailing. Experience this activity by poling in the traditional manner from my Action Craft skiff or wading the flats while we look for the distincitive signs of tailing Redfish.

From exploring the local creeks and bays for Trout, Jack Crevalle, Ladyfish, Spanish Mackerel and other seasonal fish to the exciting action of Redfish on the tidal flats, this part of the South Carolina coast between Charleston, Georgetown and Myrtle Beach has something to offer everyone. Enjoy a Fly fishing or light tackle fishing experience using your choice of G-Loomis rods matched with reels by Abel or Shimano.
